About Zenithal

Jarod is Principal at Zenithal Innovations and is an experienced executive with nearly 20 years in the chemicals processing industry. His passion is designing novel chemicals and materials production processes that reduce carbon emissions while remaining economically-competitive.

After completing a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder he co-founded a biofuels company, SynCH Energy (acq. by Oberon Fuels) that converted biogas to low-carbon gasoline. Jarod was VP of Technology at Siluria Technologies (acq. by Lummus Technology) where he worked with and led teams to produce ethylene and propylene via oxidative-coupling of methane (OCM). There he also led a team to convert olefins to fuels, which is similar to many emerging sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) projects. Jarod became VP of Technology Engineering at Sila Nano, leading the engineering team to scale silicon anode production processes from lab to commercial scale, to manufacture lithium-ion batteries for customers like Mercedes-Benz and Whoop.

Over the span of his career, Jarod has led or been an integral team member of numerous successful pilot, demonstration, and small commercial projects, typically involving first-of-its-kind processes and equipment. His teams have raised nearly $1B in venture capital in support of these activities.
